Leila Mahdavi

Leila joined the Bernt lab as a research technician in 2021 after graduating from Wellesley College with a major in Biochemistry and minor in Religion. During her time at Wellesley, she had the opportunity to work in Dr. Kimberly Stegmaier's lab at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and completed an Honors thesis studying the targeted degradation of GSK-3α for the treatment of pediatric acute myeloid leukemia. Leila contributed to studies on MN1, in vivo studies on ENL, and understanding mechanism of resistance to Menin inhibitors.

Outside of work, she enjoys collecting vintage records, listening to classic rock, and hanging out with friends.

Leila is now in Medical School at Georgetown!
